FRY FINE ART
NEW ENGLAND ART EXCHANGE
See you Saturday!
PETERBOROUGH, NH The beautiful retail space of 36 Grove Street, (formerly Sarah's Hat Boxes) will soon be opening as the FRY FINE ART, with Fine Art, Handcrafted Furniture made in New England and High Quality Antiques. Curator and Store Manager, Mindy Taylor has transformed the shop to showcase the artisans in our region with hand picked art from the Collection of Stan and Cheri Fry. "The goal for the shop is to provide a welcoming location for residents and visitors, to discover world class Art, Furniture and Rugs in a relaxing atmosphere. The minute you walk into the store, you know that you will want to spend some time here. The Riverside location, the natural beauty that abounds from every window provides the perfect backdrop for this one of a kind destination." explains Mindy. "Service will be our highest priority. I have personally selected a knowledgable, caring team that is there for customers needs, for questions with the goal of exceeding expectations!”.
The primary focus with this first exhibit is twentieth century impressionism, inspired by three generations of the Gruppe Family. Charles Paul Gruppe, Emile Albert Gruppe, and Robert Charles Gruppe, grandfather, father and son. "We will be including many other pieces from other periods and continuously changing the art selections". comments Mindy. "Art at the Waterhouse Restaurant and Bar will continue to be an extension of the Fry Fine Art with future exhibits such as the WINTER WONDERLAND exhibit November 27, 2017 through February11 2018, containing snow scenes. Following that, from February 12th to April 9, 2018, will be a prelude to the ALLURE OF VENICE show taking place at The Whistler House Museum, Lowell Art Association, Lowell, Ma". A full list of of exhibits in Peterborough and other New England locations can be found attached.
The FRY FINE ART store has been a desire for owner Stan Fry for many years. "It had to be the right time, the right location and a concept that was different from other shops in the region. We have been working with local merchants to ensure that what is offered does not directly compete, but pro- vides a compliment to the shopping community. Most importantly, it creates another reason to visit Peterborough. Mindy will be working hard to market and promote the wonderful offerings in the store, but the word of mouth and social media will ultimately drive visitors and return business." says Stan Fry.
Mindy believes that creating the store is just the beginning: FRY FINE ART will be a place for monthly intimate gatherings to learn about various aspects of Art, Antiques, Wines and much more. "The store should bring even more life to Downtown Peterborough throughout the week. Creating a series of gatherings, presentations and wine tastings will be a fun After Hours program. We are so excited to be a good business partner for the Town and collaborate with merchants in future events.”
Finely appointed antique furniture will compliment the beauty of the Art. Since 1983, the Hackler family has been synonymous with fine antiques. Their NH Antique Co-op in Milford, is one of the first group shops established in New England. They are highly regarded in the industry and are known for their expertise, diversity of product and commitment to excellence. Their passion for the old, whether Chinese art & furniture, to Federal furniture, to sterling silver has earned them respect though-out the Region. "Our association with Stan Fry and Fry Fine Art will allow us to be in Peterborough again. This area has some great antique shops and we are thrilled to provide some unique, quality pieces." explains Jason Hackler, part owner of NHAC.
Another fine organization, is Shaker Style Hand Crafted Furniture located in Harrisville. Since 1989, Stephen Barlow, third-generation New England woodworker, is the artist or "Maker" as he describes himself, of the Shaker Collection. Stephen takes pride in carrying on the tradition of excellence passed down by his grandfather and great-grandfather. "This collaboration with Fry Fine Art is perfect, we could not be more pleased!" exclaims Cheryl Barlow.
Fry Fine Art will showcase a variety of artisans and will be continuously adding new products."Every week, there will be new and changing merchandise. So, visitors to the shop can stop-in regularly and always find something new to appreciate and purchase. We will be establishing customer profiles so that if there is something you are looking for, we will make every effort to find it and bring it to Fry Fine Art. No need to go to Boston or NY to find just the right piece for your home, Fry Fine Art can bring it locally!" exclaims Mindy.
December will mark the opening of Fry Fine Art with an Open House event is scheduled to be held December 2nd from 6pm to 8pm. Save the date and watch for detail announcements on the website, www.fryfineart.com and on Facebook.
